Just a quick update on my meditation practice. I posted a blog back in April stating that I intended to really put some effort into meditation.
Yes, I have been consistently meditating every day. And in the last 2 months I have started to meditate twice a day, once in the morning and in the evening. Usually 20-30 minute sessions. I have missed a few days, but I have maintained a steady practice.
Along with the meditating I have read a few books that have added some helpful tips for me. And, there are a tons of resources to help anyone with mediation.
One of the helpful books in a new book about TM or transcendental Meditation. This is the type of meditation that became popular when the Beatles stepped into meditation.
The book is Transcendence: Healing and Transformation Through Transcendental Meditation by Norman E. Rosenthal.
And, what was helpful was reading about the actual experience of transcendence that a person can experience thru the practice of meditation. This transcendence experience is what I want to have for myself. It sounds wonderful! I’m not looking for stress relieve, I want transcendence.
So, I’ll keep on practicing.
The technique I have been using is concentration on the breath, which means I watch & feel my breath go in and out. And, I have been experiencing growth especially catching my mind as it tries to talk to me. Our minds are amazing chatter boxes.
Well, that’s it for this subject.
Now, go, sit down and watch your breath.
